As you step into The Bar Convent Guest House, you'll be just a short 15-minute stroll from York's bustling city centre and mere metres away from York Railway Station. This historic Grade I listed building boasts an intriguing exhibition showcasing its rich past, a serene garden, and complimentary Wi-Fi for all guests. Each of our rooms comes equipped with en-suite facilities, as well as access to our newly refurbished guest kitchen and lounge area. Start your day with a delicious continental breakfast spread at our on-site café, featuring fresh fruit, pastries, toast, and cereals - or upgrade to our renowned full English breakfast for an added treat. Breakfast hours are from 10:00 am on weekends and 9:30 am from Monday to Friday. Please note that our Superior Single Rooms are on a floor accessed by a narrow staircase and there is no lift service. As part our conservation programme to maintain the high standards of our historic house, external painting and minor repairs work will be taking place at various times between Monday 4th March – Friday 30th August 2024. This is expected to have no impact on your enjoyment of the Centre whatsoever, however out of courtesy we wanted to let you know that sections of scaffolding may be seen outside of the house in the garden and over the atrium area to enable access for the team, who will be working between the hours of 9am – 5pm weekdays during.
