The West End Hotel is situated within a charming Victorian townhouse, just a short 15-minute stroll from Edinburgh's vibrant West End and Princes Street. Our cozy hotel offers simple yet quality accommodations for travelers seeking an unforgettable experience in Scotland's capital city. Following a comprehensive refurbishment in 2018, our modern dormitory rooms are now brighter and more comfortable than ever. Choose between our compact 6-bed en-suite rooms or larger shared bathroom options - we guarantee you'll feel right at home! Please note that all rooms can be accessed via stairs only, as there is no elevator. Our hotel retains its original high ceilings and beautiful bay windows, adding to its unique charm. Regular buses run every 10 minutes from our doorstep to the city center, while Edinburgh Haymarket Rail Station is just a 5-minute walk away. For parking, we recommend the nearby NCP Car Park, which is about a 20-minute walk from the hotel. Please note that groups of eight or more people must pay a £20 per person damage deposit upon arrival in cash, which will be refunded upon check-out provided no damage or disturbance has been caused and hostel rules are respected.

Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. This property will not accommodate hen, stag or similar parties. Guests under the age of 18 can only check in with a parent or official guardian. A damage deposit of GBP 20 is required on arrival. This will be collected as a cash payment. You should be reimbursed on check-out. Your deposit will be refunded in full in cash, subject to an inspection of the property. Children are welcome when adults are booking a private room only. Children under 18 are not permitted in the dormitory rooms. Children trying to stay in the dormitory rooms will be refused entry. All guests checking into the hostel must have photographic ID with them in the form of passport or driving licence. Unfortunately check-in will not be permitted unless photo ID is provided. There is no lift access in the hostel and all rooms are accessible by stairs only, over 3 floors. Small lockers for valuables are available with access from 08:00 until 23:00. Males who book the female-only dormitory room will not be permitted to stay and a refund will not be issued. Any guests arriving after 23:00 Sunday to Thursday and after 00:00 Friday and Saturday will be required to pay a GBP 5 late arrival fee to the member of night staff.
